This policy explains how you can request the closure of your Bitara account and the deletion of your personal data, and what happens to your information after such a request. This policy complies with Google Play Store and Apple App Store requirements for apps that support account creation, as well as applicable data protection regulations including GDPR and regional equivalents.
1. Your Right to Delete Your Account
You have the right to request the permanent closure and deletion of your Bitara account and associated personal data at any time. We provide multiple methods to initiate this request to ensure accessibility for all users, including those who may no longer have access to the app.
2. How to Request Account Deletion
Method 1: In-App (Recommended)
- Open the Bitara app and log in to your account
- Tap Profile (bottom navigation bar) → Settings
- Scroll to Account → tap Close Account
- Read the disclosure and confirm all pre-conditions are met (see Section 3)
- Enter your password and 2FA code to confirm your identity
- Select your deletion reason (optional but appreciated)
- Tap Confirm Account Deletion
- You will receive a confirmation email at your registered address
Method 2: Via Web Portal
- Visit Dashboard
- Log in and follow the on-screen steps on settings
Method 3: Email Request
If you cannot access the app or web portal, email us at privacy@ognimohub.com with the subject line: "Account Deletion Request". Include:
- Your registered email address or username
- A brief statement requesting account closure and data deletion
- A copy of your government-issued ID (for identity verification, as we cannot verify you through login)
We will process emailed requests within 30 calendar days of identity verification.
3. Pre-Conditions for Account Deletion
To protect you and ensure regulatory compliance, your account must meet the following conditions before deletion can be completed:
- Zero Balance: All cryptocurrency balances must be withdrawn or transferred to an external wallet. We cannot delete accounts with positive balances. If you are unable to withdraw (e.g., due to minimum withdrawal thresholds), contact support for assistance
- No Open Positions: All open trades, futures contracts, options, or copy-trading positions must be closed
- No Pending Withdrawals: All withdrawal requests must be completed or cancelled
- No Open P2P Orders: All active P2P buy/sell advertisements or ongoing trades must be closed or completed
- No Active Disputes: Any unresolved P2P disputes or support tickets involving financial claims must be resolved first
- No Outstanding Debt: Any negative balance or fee obligations must be settled
- No Active Master Trader Status: Master Traders with active followers must formally end their copy-trading service and notify followers before account deletion
If your account does not meet these conditions at the time of your request, deletion will be paused and you will be notified of the outstanding items to resolve.
4. What Happens After You Submit a Deletion Request
4.1 Confirmation & Processing Timeline
- Immediate: You will receive an email confirmation acknowledging receipt of your request
- Within 24–48 hours: Your account will be deactivated. You will lose access to login, trading, and all account features
- Within 30 days: Your account and associated personal data will be permanently deleted from our active production systems, subject to the retention exceptions in Section 5
- Within 90 days: Data will be purged from backups and disaster recovery systems on rolling backup cycles
4.2 Cancellation Window
You have a 7-day grace period after submitting your deletion request to cancel it. During this window, your account will be deactivated (inaccessible) but not yet permanently deleted. To cancel a deletion request, email privacy@ognimohub.com within 7 days of submission. After this window, deletion is irreversible.
5. Data Retained After Deletion (Regulatory Obligations)
Bitara operates as a regulated financial services platform and is legally required to retain certain data even after account deletion. This is not optional — it is mandated by AML, KYC, and financial record-keeping laws in the jurisdictions where we operate.
The following data categories are retained after deletion and are not subject to the erasure right under this policy:
- KYC / Identity Records: Full name, date of birth, ID document copies, address proof, and biometric verification records — retained for a minimum of 5 years post-closure (or longer per local law)
- Transaction Records: Complete history of all deposits, withdrawals, trades (spot, futures, binary, P2P, copy trading) — retained for 5–7 years depending on jurisdiction
- AML Records: Suspicious activity reports, sanctions screening results, and related compliance records — retained for 5 years minimum
- Financial Communications: Records relevant to regulatory investigations or legal proceedings — retained for the duration of any investigation plus applicable statutory period
- Tax Reporting Data: Retained as required by applicable tax laws (typically 7 years)
This retained data is:
- Stored in isolated, access-restricted archives separate from active systems
- Accessible only to compliance, legal, and authorized regulatory personnel
- Permanently deleted upon expiry of the applicable legal retention period
- Not used for marketing, product development, or any commercial purpose
6. Data Deleted Upon Account Closure
Subject to Section 5, the following data is deleted within 30 days of a completed deletion request:
- Username and display name
- Email address and phone number (unlinked from your identity)
- Password hash and 2FA credentials
- Device tokens, push notification IDs
- App preferences, watchlists, UI settings, and notification preferences
- Marketing consent records and communication preferences
- Behavioral analytics and usage session data
- Copy trading follower/following relationships
- P2P reputation scores and user reviews
- Customer support chat history (non-financial)
- Referral and affiliate linkages
7. Google & Apple App Store Compliance
This Account & Data Deletion Policy is designed to fully comply with:
- Google Play Data Safety Requirements: Bitara provides a clear in-app deletion pathway as required by Google Play policies for apps that require account creation. Users can delete their account and data from within the app without needing to visit an external website
- Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1: Bitara provides the ability to initiate account deletion from within the app, as required for apps distributed on the Apple App Store. The deletion is accessible within the app settings under Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account
8. Effect on Linked Services
- Social Login: Deleting your Bitara account does not delete your Google, Facebook, LinkedIn or Apple ID. To revoke Bitara's access to your social account, manage permissions in your Google Account settings or Apple ID settings respectively
- API Keys: All API keys associated with your account will be permanently revoked upon account deletion
- Referred Users: Referral relationships are dissolved. Referred users' accounts are unaffected
